I grew in the town of Maycomb, Alabama.For as long as i can remeber our citizens did not have much to do during the day except work and gosip about things that went on around the town. The adults would just sit around and read the news paper during there free time from work.
If you just learn a single trick, Scout, you'll get along a lot better with all kinds of folks. You never really understand a person until you consider things from his point of view... Until you climb inside of his skin and walk around in it.

Atticus is one of my favorite father figures in literary history. He's a strong character, but he's also willing to stand up for what he believes. He represents an important role model for Scout.
